Fix Uxbridge Road

Uxbridge Road

Almost three thousand residents signed a petition to fix the Uxbridge Road. The campaign organisers, spearheaded by concerned residents sick and tired of the decline of their high street under this Labour Administration, took their case to Cabinet this month.

The residents are not asking for much. They want to see BT Phone Boxes removed, they want the over clustering of the trifecta of betting shops, chicken shops and vape shops to end, and they want the decluttering and beautification of the public realm.

The Labour Administration offered them warm words at Cabinet, but since then have been silent for almost a month, ignoring several attempts to engage. Why? Because they simply don’t care what residents think.

This is an Administration that does things to residents, not with them. An Administration that doesn’t like being told it’s gotten things wrong.

But things can be different. Our high streets are the beating hearts of our communities across Hammersmith & Fulham. That’s why we are working with these residents to develop a plan to fix the Uxbridge Road.

We will step in where the Labour Council has failed and help these residents fight for the betterment of their community.

The 'Fix Uxbridge Road W12' group continues to lobby the Council to improve Uxbridge Road for the residents. You can get involved by following them on Instagram and on Nextdoor.
