Save the Sulgrave!

Local teenagers need local youth clubs like the Sulgrave Club.

Help us protect its funding, by signing our petition!

Labour-run Hammersmith & Fulham Council are ending their provision for youth club funding. The Sulgrave Club, just like the Brunswick Club will no longer receive any financial support from the council for their youth provision for 11 to 19 year-olds despite having a proven track record of delivery and strong community links.

Instead Labour-run LBHF has decided that the funding will be allocated to a national provider. Help us protect our local youth clubs. Sign our petition below now!

The Sulgrave Youth Club was founded in 1926 and originally located in Shepherd's Bush before moving to Goldhawk Road in 1936. The inspiration for providing a Youth club for boys and young men within the local community was Edward De Stein, a founding member of the City of London brokers. Alongside a couple of friends, De Stein purchased a property in Sulgrave Road and founded the ‘Sulgrave Club’.

Since then and for nearly 100 years it has served as a youth club and today offers a very wide range of activities for over 125 young people every week including cooking, football, basketball, taekwondo, music production and academic clubs to name just a few.

Council funding for the Brunswick Youth Club in Fulham is also under threat. The club was founded in 1949 with donations by British ex-Prisoners of World War II held in Brunswick, Germany and now has a membership of over 1,000 young people. Please take the time to sign Greg Hands MP's petition to save the Brunswick Club too. You can find it by clicking here.

So, will you take a minute to sign our petition and help us save the Sulgrave and local youth clubs?

Petition to save the Sulgrave!

We, the undersigned, are urging the London Borough of Hammersmith & Fulham to reinstate direct council funding for the 11 to 19 year-olds provision at the Sulgrave Club in Hammersmith.
